We have lived in our current home for over 2 years now and truly...there are three rooms that are finished in our home...I thought I would show you a few of them over the next few weeks. Hopefully soon there will be more to show.
I finished the mud room today by applying the vinyl words above the jars.
These jars once belonged to my grandma. She was the original "green" living poster child. She never threw anything away (to the point that it was NOT good). One thing she always kept were her jars. She loved canning and she kept jars to can in but she also just loved jars. She gave me some of these jars when she was living and the rest I acquired from her collection after she passed. I have studied up on some of these jars now and have truly learned to love old jars. It's a wonderful connection to her, one I wish I had discovered long before I did.
These jars are special and they hold special mementos from our life so far. The kids and I like to wade in creeks and when we do we always gather one treasure we find while wading and bring it home with us to put in one of our jars.
This jar is filled with arm bands. Superhero insists on wearing these things until they literally fall off. So we decided to save them after they fall off. Some of these nasty things have been worn for nearly a year.

One of our jars is filled with marbles I use to play with when I was little.

One jar has pieces and parts of fallen GI Joe figurines my son has shaken till they have literally fallen apart.
One jar is one my best buddy gave me that has bees in it. Bees are an important reminder to me...humm...i will post that story soon so I am just going to let that hang there for now.

Anyway, these treasured jars hold may treasures in them.
